Class Project: Usability and Information Architecture

Overview

Background

All projects on this page were done under Professor David Kirsh for COGS 187A: Usability & Information Architecture. All projects were done collaboratively, and focused on teaching us the theory behind web design.

Class Goal

To collaborate with fellow students, and put to practice the theories we were learned in class.

Project 1: Competitive Analysis Portfolios

A project where I critiqued 10 portfolio websites based on the following criteria: brand, functionality, interactivity, and navigation.

Project 2: Usability Evaluation

With my partner Kristine Le, we evaluated the University of Illinois website in terms of how well it adhered to Nielsen's ten heuristics of design.

Project 3: Information Architecture

In groups of three, we re-designed the University of Illinois website. Some of the work we did includes user personas, a competitive analysis, and wireframes.
